DO REAL SCIENCE NOW!

This page gives you links to real online science experiments where YOU can help scientists by interpreting their results.

ZOONIVERSE

On this website you can participate in a wide variety of citizen science projects like searching for and identifying stars and animals. Click here to visit the website.

NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC

This page has a list of citizen science projects, some involve doing actual experiments and/or taking photos.

SCISTARTER

This website has a searchable database of many projects, you can choose from on or offline, but you will have to create an account.

SEARCHING FOR STAR DUST

Help NASA and Berkley by looking for stardust in aerogel samples from space. Click here, you have to do training first.

CELL STRUCTURE

For people going IGCSE and A Level/IB you can participate in these projects identifying cell mitochondria or endoplasmic reticulum.

GALAXY ZOO

Look at photos from space and help to classify galaxies by their shape. Click here.

PENGUIN WATCH

Another one from zooniverse where you have to classify penguins, chicks and eggs, very cute. Click here.

OCEAN EYES

Help scientists measure and classify deep water fish in this activity.

LOOK FOR SEALS AND SEA LIONS

In this activity you will identify seals and sea lions in the Año Nuevo reserve, it is quite tricky!!

BURROWING OWLS

Here you can help identify burrowing owls and other species, you will also learn about their behaviour.

DRONES FOR DUCKS

In this activity you will identify geese, ducks and cranes from drone photos.
